Our Story
When I became a mom at 16, life was far from easy. I juggled two, sometimes three jobs—doing everything from extreme couponing and teaching coupon classes to baking custom cakes, driving for Uber and DoorDash, and even moving cross-country more than once. On top of all that, I was a college student, determined to provide for my daughters and never let them go without.
No matter how hard I worked, though, I quickly realized it wasn’t about how much money I made—it was about how I managed it. That’s when my budget became my lifeline. It wasn’t anything fancy back then, but it worked. And the budgeting sheet I’ve created for YOU today is the evolved version of that lifesaver.
As a single mom of three, I understand the pressure of trying to keep everything afloat. It can feel overwhelming, but I promise you—budgeting doesn’t have to be stressful. My grandmother taught me the importance of planning when I was just 10 years old. She handed me a personal finance workbook and told me to dream big, to create five- and ten-year plans. That wisdom stuck with me and pushed me to create my first budget at 19, even while raising two young girls and attending college.
That budget saved my life—and now, it can save yours too.
Now at 33, as an Accountant, I’m proud to say I’ve met my financial goals and on the right path to sending my oldest daughter off to college without creating debt. I can tell you firsthand: the key to financial success isn’t in restricting yourself—it’s in gaining control and freedom through budgeting. Wealthy people do this effortlessly, and so can you.
